Take the time to genuinely compliment someone today.
Make it your goal to be an open-hearted servant in your home.
Pay it forward: whether at a coffee shop, at a gas station, or along a toll road... Leave cash to cover the person behind you. It will make your day and theirs!
Give an old friend a call, and leave an I'm-glad-I-know-you message on their voice mail.
Choose to celebrate life. Make a special dessert for a treat this week, even if it's just for yourself!
Jealousy comes from counting someone else's blessings instead of your own.
If you have a significant other, find an old photo of the two of you, and jot him a few lines about the sweet memories it brings back. Then hide it under his pillow to discover tonight.
When a mundane task looms in front of you, surround yourself with some of your favorite things: music, candles, cozy socks, etc. - and suddenly, the mundane becomes quite bearable!
It is easy to be critical. The real test is to come up with constructive alternatives.
"If you have a significant other, find an old photo of the two of you, and jot him a few lines about the sweet memories it brings back. Then hide it under his pillow to discover tonight." OH MY GOODNESS! I love this idea! Now... to track down the perfect photograph :)
ReplyDeleteYour posts always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteAll of these. I love all of these. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your perspective on life, Kristin.
ReplyDelete"Choose to celebrate life." - yes, yes, and YES! Been thinking about the storm in the Philippines for the past 2 weeks (sorry to be a Debbie Downer) but it just made me think of how fleeting life is, and how insignificant the things I tend to worry about are in the grander scheme of life and relationships.
